Best ways to set Content Distribution Strategy

Storytelling and human-brain interaction are important. Let’s begin the story.

When I started freelancing in 2009, it was tough to understand its ecosystem, and gig promotion was another big challenge. Gradually I found social media posts are significant but soon I realized it wasn’t enough for my expectations. Although I was regular with content posting across major social media, still, things were not favoring.

It took a while to catch the gap and it was -the incorrect Content distribution strategy plus-a deep mismatch between the content type and the platform.

Things became understandable with executed modifications (and, recently launched a Quiz Blog. To a large extent As a content creator and content marketer, I’ve found four major factors to fix in mind before actually framing the content distribution strategy:

a. Type of audience Engagement is the prime indicator

Only reactions (likes etc.) aren’t sufficient but subject-relevant comments (suggestions/criticism/opinion) are critical. A mutual acknowledgment and appreciation via comments on each other’s posts are great.

b. Problem-solving approach in the first place

A solution for issues is a matter of concern for Readers/Audience/Users. They don’t want to waste their time. Simplifying the complexities to win their trust leads to audience retention.

c. Repurposing content strategy should be included

It pays both ways.

Repurposing adjusts time because we can’t extract ideas every moment else it’s stressful, thus, keeping on practicing it can help.

d. Upskill and update

Competition is boundless; surging exponentially with advancement. You can’t afford to limit expertise to conventional means, it has to be updated with specific, determined, and attentive subject research.

Let’s dive in for the best ways to fix content distribution strategy:

1. The Right Platform

Latest Monthly Active Users (MAUs) estimates (approximate) of:

Facebook- 2.9 Billion

Instagram — 1.4 Billion

Youtube — 0.85 Billion

Twitter — 0.4 Billion

Annual users estimates for LinkedIn are 0.7 Billion.

Are you impressed with these stats?

Yes. The numbers can guide content creators. But Which platform is suitable for which content type or vice versa is a critical assessment, it’s crucial to grab the depth of the facts.

It’s not wise to create the same content type for LinkedIn as you would be doing for Facebook or Instagram. Why? Because the type of audience differs across different platforms with specific interests and responses.

Even the technical allowance for users differs like Twitter permits only 280 characters in a single tweet.

The meaning of all this helps you in determining the content distribution strategy with an exclusive targeted audience.

2. Time and content segmentation

This meta-analysis is suggesting the positive impact of time management on performance and well-being.

If time management has importance then the ways of executing it should be implemented effectively. And, Segmenting Content (beaking down to easier load) for smooth flow of content strategy application is gaining attention.

Chunking content (text) is a common teaching strategy and for content writers, it’s eyeing SEO requirements.

Repurposing content with chunking (breaking down) can deliver significant outcomes (time savior). Like content creators can use a section of a long-form blog article as a Tweet.

3. Content quality and relevancy

I’m a die-hard fan of watching documentaries on OTTs for a fun time but in recent times the same OTT isn’t serving the content my taste, thus, I’ve opted for a different platform. Have you analyzed why this happened? It’s simple-I missed the content on a platform where I was hoping for my requirements, once they are out of context, I left.

It signifies content relevancy is critical for audience retention and one shouldn’t forget the quality factor. The elements or means to deliver information/entertainment for the audience must synchronize and maintain the balance between relevancy and quality of content. A report by Twitter reveals more retweets (35% boost) with “posts with images” thus visuals (images/videos) perform better with increased social engagement than “only text”.

4. Affordability for Promotion (Organic/paid)

Is it easy to decide the place where products and services can gain desired response?

Maybe a seamless confusion could intervene in the business promotions with ways like blog posts, guest posts, and usual social media.

Do organic modes dominate paid options? The right content strategy must nail down interferences and the budget consideration is in the limelight as it has serious importance in marketing.

Your Brand voice should make maximum out of the projected online assets helping to bring awareness among the targeted audience. Either organic or paid, both are logical when the pace of expectations is in the first place. Like traffic to your website or landing page(s).

B2B or B2C, differentiating available aspects of promotions will be eyeing on investment you can afford.

Organic mediums-Facebook page with a dedicated niche/subject is far more significant than a comprehensive projection of a braid subject (you know microniche concept). There’s a lot more apart from only Facebook.

Paid modes-Not, only affordability, but allocation across different accessibilities is critical, and the better you know how to operate/set campaigns, the maximum you can save (avoid service fee).

Don’t forget, Emergency Budget allocation, as there are multiple events that could come across the marketing calendar and personal/professional distractions too (It makes sense).

5. Budget distribution (optional)

Okay- you’re fine with paid marketing.

Pay attention-Distributing finances across the mediums might cause a pause in framing content strategy; fund allocation at the right place needs prior experience or the expert’s intervention.

Why startups fail-they “ran out of cash”-holding the top position (38%) in the list. By now you can understand the importance of Budget distribution in the Content strategy.

6. Study Analytics

Feedback is the breakfast of champions-Ken Blanchard

Social media monitoring to analyze content performance with audience insights and associated parameters to introduce modifications is a key reflection of conscious Social intelligence.

We aren’t short of tools and technology solutions (like Google Analytics and Facebook Pixels) to grab data, the challenge is to extract relevant information to decide further steps.

Different content types have diverse outputs, a content marketer is responsible to access indicators for listing inclusions and exclusions.

7. Flexible with rapid modifications

A lot can be done to improve content strategy with the analyzed data, it’s logical only when you’re willing to execute changes in time which could ask for third-party assistance and a bit of investment.

8. Test and Repeat

Founder of SpaceX and CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk is a paradigm for inspiration to follow a “never give up” attitude.

Failures would come in multiple ways but overcoming those is a mandatorily obvious wise strategy with a “keep on trying” pattern.
